Burns Lunch 2012
Deeside Activity Park, a local outdoor pursuits company based near Aboyne, will be hosting their 7th Burns Lunch this year. Rising in popularity every year, the Park’s Burns Lunch will be held on Sunday 22th January at 12.30 pm, within the Park’s indoor arena. A traditional Scottish menu has been chosen to accompany a plethora of entertainment, including the customary recital of Robert Burns ‘Address to a Haggis’, the music of Tarland fiddler Paul Anderson, and singing from Deeside residents.
“Booking in advance is absolutely essential” says Caroline from Deeside Activity Park, “We hosted our first Burns lunch in 2005 and were so pleased that we had managed to attract just over 20 guests, however, as word has spread about the quality fare, demand has grown and we have been catering for between 120 and 150 guests each year since.”
Deeside Activity Park will be serving a traditional lunch of cock-a-leekie soup, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (that goes without saying!), an option of vegetarian or traditional, homemade Clootie Dumpling, followed off by a cup of tea or coffee and shortbread.
“It is great that this event is a not to be missed event by so many of our guests.” Said Fiona, Sales & Marketing for the park.
If you’d like to join the Deeside Activity Park Burns Lunch celebrations, call 013398 83536 to book your table. Tickets are £16 or £14 for senior citizens. Whilst the coffee shop and activities will be running as usual, Deeside Activity Park would like to apologise that due to the large numbers of guests attending the burns lunch then the weekly winter Sunday Lunch Carvery will not be available but will return on 29th January 2012.
